Back by popular demand! This day-long intensive workshop will provide the essentials of what it takes to create, perform and produce a one person show. Explore writing exercises, improvisation, the business of solo shows, and tips for marketing and production.

The workshop will explore the fundamental elements of a solo show, structure and theory, as well as providing practical writing exercises to generate material, to build stakes in your writing and create dynamic characters.

This workshop will provide a working space to discover and generate material. Bring pen, paper and ideas!

This 3 hour workshop offers a fun, supportive and nurturing environment for you to take a moment for yourself and record some of the amazing experiences that are making up your Mama adventure.

Explore this process through guided writing exercises, collage, sharing, free rants and lots and lots of laughter!

Please, bring your own journal or blank book, portfolio or whatever you choose to be your perfect “MamaBook”.

I have been working for Theatre BC as a juror for the 21st Annual National Playwrighting Competition. This was an amazing opportunity to read plays from across Canada. The winners are announced at  www.theatrebc.org.

Also I had the pleasure of  working as a director/dramaturge to fine tune an exciting new play called,  Once Upon A Lesbian with the Vancouver based theatre company, the Leaping Thespians. For more info www.leapingthespians.ca.

We (Erin Ormond and myself) performed the excerpt from my comedy show, The Drama Queens on Oct. 13/2009 at the Port Theatre. This was the first time this material was performed in front of an audience! An amazing experience! I am hoping to do another developmental workshop/ invited reading, coming soon to a theatre near you…
